Denver snowmobile tours FAQ

Snowmobile Denver Frequently Asked Questions

How old does my child have to be to drive his/her own snowmobile?

We require that all drivers be 15 years of age (with a valid learner’s permit) to drive their own machine. Drivers must be 18 years of age or older to carry a passenger on the back of their sled.

Is transportation provided?

No, guests must provide their own transportation for snowmobiling.

What is the minimum age for my child to ride as a passenger on a snowmobile?

Children must be age 4 or older to ride as a passenger on a parent’s machine.

How many guests can each snowmobile accommodate?

Each sled has a maximum capacity of 2 people (1 driver and 1 passenger), regardless of age or child size.

What equipment is provided, and what should we bring?

We provide top-of-the-line sleds and helmets. Bring warm winter clothing, insulated boots, ski goggles or sunglasses for eye protection, and gloves or mittens. Sunscreen, a neck gaiter, and a camera are recommended.

Do you require reservations?

Reservations are highly recommended. Our tours and rentals are popular and often sell out. Same-day reservations may be available—our staff is happy to help.

What sort of safety training will my guides have?

Our guides have years of experience in the Rockies. All employees hold at least first aid, CPR, and backcountry safety certifications.

I’ve never been on a snowmobile. Is there a tour for me?

Yes. Many guests are first-time riders. We provide a tutorial on sled operation and practice time before departure, and we’ll help you choose the right tour or rental.

How early should we arrive for our tour?

Please arrive 30 minutes prior to your scheduled departure time.
